Best for

Worst for

Wedibox

Anyone who wants US-based hosting or moderation baked in.

Best for
Weddings prioritizing video-first storytelling. Their app has strong video editing built-in.
Worst for
Guests who won't download an app. POV requires the app for full experience.
WedShoots
$49 flatCheaper than Guestpix, more expensive than us, and missing the QR + slideshow that make this format actually work at a live venue.
Best for
Small weddings under 50 guests where you don't care about live slideshow or moderation.
Worst for
Big events. No QR code and no slideshow means guests share by hashtag, which loses reach fast.
Instagram Hashtag
FreeNostalgic but broken. Half your guests aren't on Instagram in 2026, and the ones who are won't discover each other's posts via the hashtag anymore.
Best for
Weddings pre-2020. Reach was much higher then.
Worst for
Any wedding in 2026. Instagram's algorithm de-prioritizes hashtags heavily; guests who don't use IG are excluded; posts are scattered across accounts.
Shared Google Drive Folder
FreeWorks if all your guests are Gmail users under 40 who don't mind signing in. Fails silently for everyone else — they see the sign-in prompt and give up.
Best for
Family gatherings where every guest already has Google. Zero cost.
Worst for
Any event with guests who don't use Google, older guests, or where you want a live slideshow. Bounce rate on "sign in to Google Drive" is brutal at a party.
WhatsApp Group
FreeFine for the after-party. Not fine for the wedding itself — the compression alone eliminates any hope of print-quality photos.
Best for
Small events (~20 guests max). Everyone already has WhatsApp.
Worst for
Weddings. WhatsApp compresses photos to garbage quality, videos get truncated, and 100+ guest groups are chaos.
Disposable Cameras
$60–$150 (10–25 cameras)Genuinely the best choice for two scenarios: aesthetic-first weddings, and remote venues where wifi is broken. Otherwise you're paying more for less.
Best for
Aesthetic-driven weddings that want the 90s vibe. Venues with terrible wifi where any digital option fails.
Worst for
Anyone on a budget. Development costs alone are $8–15 per camera and half the photos are unusable.
