Printing tips for wedding QR signage
- Test the scan before you print the whole run. Print one at final size, then scan from 2 feet away with two different phones. Cheap ink and dim venue lighting kill low-contrast QRs.
- Contrast matters more than color. Dark QR dots on a light background always work. Pastel-on-pastel looks pretty but often fails to scan. When in doubt: black on white.
- Table tents beat table cards. Guests actually notice tents because they stand up. Cards laid flat get covered by centerpieces and drinks.
- Position for wet-hands moments. The bathroom-stall poster gets more uploads per view than any other placement, because guests have their phones out and 2 minutes to kill.
- Don’t hide the QR at the reception entrance. Guests skip the reception table on the way in. Put the sign at the dinner tables instead.
Frequently asked questions
What size should a wedding QR code be printed at?▾
For guests to scan comfortably at arm's length: table tents at 1.5–2 inches, welcome signs at 3–4 inches, A3 posters at 4–5 inches. Never go below 1 inch — most phone cameras struggle at that size, especially with dance-floor lighting.
Do these templates work with any QR code image?▾
Yes. Upload any PNG or JPG QR code — from QR Maker, from Guestpix, from a generic generator. The templates render your image at print size. For best results use a QR image at least 600×600 pixels.
What paper should I print wedding QR signs on?▾
Table tents: 100-lb cardstock. Welcome signs: mount on foam board. A3 posters: 80-lb matte paper looks best photographed. Skip glossy — it reflects venue light and photographs badly.
How do I save these templates as PDF?▾
Click the "Print / Save as PDF" button on the template you want. In the browser print dialog, change "Destination" to "Save as PDF" (Chrome/Edge) or "Save as PDF" from the PDF button (Safari). Print margins should be set to "None".
